Quiet Garden

The Quiet Garden Community
Walking and Resting with Christ
("Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile"
- Mark 6 v 31)

Our Quiet Garden has been set up in response to the vision of The Quiet Garden Trust.  The primary vision of this Trust is to initiate and resource a network of local opportunities for silence, reflection and the appreciation of beauty; for learning about Christian life and spirituality; and for experiencing of creativity and healing in the context of Gods love.

The garden can be found through the Green Garden Gate, in the brick wall on the right hand side, halfway along Meeting Lane, off Henley Street.

The 2010 season has started  -

OnTuesday 27th April we held our opening meeting and served tea and cakes on a beautifully sunny afternoon and a good time was shared by all who came along.

The theme for 2010 is "Desert Island Choice" (ie choice of book, luxury item or music).  Copies of the Bible and Shakespear's Books are already on the island.

We shall also be collecting thoughout the season for Water Aid and a small metal watering can will be on show for donations to this cause.

You are quite welcome to come and sit quiety in the garden (weather permitting) during our opening times.  Our meeting dates are:-

27th April; 11th and 25th May; 1st, 15th and 29th June; 13th and 27th July; Every Tuesday in August; 14th and 28th September.

Our 29th June meeting will be very special as it is our Strawberry Tea and Cake meeting!
